This is a tuition-free program open only to residences living in the town of Owego or a hamlet within town borders. Please see map below for clarification.
Spend up to three weeks at the Waterman Center in Apalachin and join the Bluebirds (ages 6-7), Green Frogs (ages 8-9), or Black Bears (ages 10-11) for an adventure filled with nature hikes, learning games, science investigations, and crafts.
This is a more introductory/exploratory approach to environmental education than Waterman EXPLORE, but participants should still have expressed an interest in nature and the outdoors.
Programming will be delivered primarily outdoors so campers should be prepared with appropriate closed toes shoes, sunscreen, insect repellant, and adequate food and water for the day (campers should bring a lunch every day).
Participants will also be expected to comply with typical COVID-19 precautions and procedures such as masking and hand hygiene. Camp hours are 9 AM until 3 PM.
Families may choose 3 of the 5 available weeks for their children to attend.
To secure your spot, mail/drop off your $25/child refundable deposit check ASAP, but by June 1st to reserve spots.
