Waterman EXPLORE (Outdoor Skills)

Do you love to explore nature and discover its hidden wonders? Could you lead the way back to the trail if lost in the woods? Can you tell what plants and animals are dangerous or useful?

Get the outdoor skills to do this and more at Waterman EXPLORE nature education camp! Don’t miss your chance to learn about and explore nature while developing skills like:

  • Navigate with a compass to find hidden treasure.

  • Make your own rope and learn useful knots.

  • Discover how water filters work and why water quality is crucial.

  • Safely build a campfire (with adult supervision).

  • Examine what we can learn from indigenous cultures and beliefs.

Each week is dedicated to a specific age group so the adventure may be tailored to the children’s needs and abilities:

Tuition is $200 per week and includes a Waterman EXPLORE t-shirt. Payment should be made in full ASAP, but by June 1st at the latest to secure your child’s spot.

* Programming will be delivered primarily outdoors so campers should be prepared with appropriate closed toes shoes, sunscreen, insect repellant, and adequate food and water for the day (campers should bring lunch every day). Other helpful, but not required materials include a sketch pad, notebook, or journal, water shoes, a cheap magnifying glass or cheap binoculars. Participants will also be expected to comply with typical COVID-19 precautions and procedures such as masking and hand hygiene.
