About the event
Join us for presentations by local experts about different aspects of the Susquehanna River! Our next presentation will be on Tuesday, January 27th, 2026 at the Waterman Center. Lisa Bloodnick will be presenting Agriculture in the Susquehanna River Basin. Learn about the history of agriculture in the Susquehanna River basin, and what practices make agriculture more sustainable. Lisa and her husband have owned Bloodnick Family Farm, a diverse, horse-powered family farm in Apalachin, NY, since 1992. In addition to raising produce, herbs and flowers they also raise a small flock of heritage breed sheep and make maple syrup. Lisa is also very involved with seed saving and is working on several special projects. She maintains a collection featuring approximately 1000 bean varieties.
